Aig Public Leaders Programme: Building a New Generation of African Public Sector Leaders

This month, classes commenced for the fourth cohort of the Aig Public Leaders Programme, our flagship executive education programme focused on building a new generation of public sector leaders and equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need to drive and sustain reforms in the public service.

Since 2021, we have partnered with the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, to deliver the Aig PLP and this month, we were delighted to welcome the 70 public servants who make up the fourth cohort of the programme.

Over the course of the next six months, programme participants will be taken through a blend of online and physical classes, strengthening their skills to build cultures of excellence, effectiveness and integrity in their MDAs. The programme will also provide participants with the conceptual frameworks and practical tools needed to meet the leadership challenges in public service.

Our goal for the PLP is to be a catalyst for positive change in the public service and we expect participants to apply their learnings to effect positive change in their various MDAs. At the end of their programme, participants are mandated to carry out a capstone project that provides solutions to the pressing challenges in their MDAs. We remain firm in our commitment to public sector transformation in Africa and strongly believe that a key way to achieve this transformation is by building the capacity of public servants.
