Access To Primary Healthcare
Successful citizens, communities and economies depend on access to high-quality primary healthcare.
So we work hard to improve the capacity of federal and state governments to deliver it. We also provide strategic support and funding to non-government organisations dedicated to improving Africa's primary healthcare sector. So far, we have committed over N3billion towards this cause.
We are committed to repositioning the healthcare system for universal health coverage by enhancing primary healthcare, strengthening the health workforce, prioritising vulnerable populations, and investing in health technology, infrastructure, and research. Our approach focuses on equitable and sustainable health outcomes with Primary Healthcare Centres as the hub. We work to increase the availability and affordability of essential medicines and health-related products while improving the quality of care in Primary Healthcare Centres.
Our work in healthcare focuses on these three areas:
Adopt-A-Healthcare
Facility Programme
The Adopt-A-Healthcare Facility Programme (ADHFP) is the flagship programme of the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN), which was created in collaboration with the Chairman of the Foundation, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede to address deficiencies in primary healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
The programme aims to establish at least one global-standard Primary Healthcare Centre in each of the 774 Local Government Areas of Nigeria. Adopters can be individuals, private sector organizations, corporate bodies, philanthropists or investors who are given an opportunity to contribute to the Improvement of primary healthcare centres in Nigeria.
So far, we have committed three billion naira to the revitalisation of 23 Primary Healthcare Centres, 18 in Edo State and 5 in additional states across Nigeria. Civil works are currently ongoing in the first four selected Primary Healthcare Centres,– Uteh, Evbuodia, Atoruru, and Idunmwunvgha – all in Edo State.
Demonstrating Thought Leadership in Health
We are committed to designing, leading, conducting research and disseminating authentic primary healthcare-related evidence-based publications that support government reforms for primary healthcare development in Nigeria and that address challenges within the healthcare landscape. Strengthening Advocacy and Partnerships for Health
We partner with prospective partners to advocate for and strengthen primary healthcare in Nigeria. This includes our partnership with PSHAN, the Edo State Government on the ADHFP, HealthPort to install medical oxygen in facilities across Edo State and other partnerships being forged in the pipeline. We also participate in strategic primary healthcare-related events to discuss our work and its impact on healthcare outcomes.
