Residential Week 2024 AIG Public Leaders Programme
This month, the AIG Public Leaders Programme (PLP) reached a significant milestone with the successful completion of the in-person Residential Week. Following two months of rigorous virtual learning, this immersive experience brought participants together to engage with esteemed faculty from the Blavatnik School of Government, the University of Oxford, and distinguished public sector leaders.
“I'm thrilled to have completed the Residential Week of the AIG Public Leaders Programme. This transformational experience expanded and deepened my leadership skills, enriched my network with lifelong connections, and re-ignited my passion for public service. I'm grateful to the entire team at Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation and Blavatnik School of Government for this incredible opportunity! “Next stop: the project phase! I'm excited to apply my newfound skills and knowledge.”

We are delighted to share the progress of this year’s AIG Public Leaders Programme (PLP). This month, participants gathered for the highly anticipated in-person Residential Week, a key component of the programme designed to deepen connections among participants and faculty after two months of intensive virtual learning.
During the week, participants engaged in intensive lectures led by the faculty from the University of Oxford. Some sessions involved peer-to-peer learning that fostered knowledge sharing and others involved simulations, hands-on exercises and case study analyses. Programme participants also had the opportunity to network with fellow public servants from different parts of Nigeria and Africa. The week helped participants strengthen their leadership skills, encouraged innovative ideas, improved teamwork, and reinforced their shared dedication to improving public systems.
Guest speakers during the week included Mrs Didi Walson-Jack, OON, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation; Dr Deborah Odoh, Permanent Secretary, Service Policies and Strategies Office, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation; Dr Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior; Mr Olanipekun Olukoyede, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC); and our Chairman, Mr Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, CFR. These leaders shared their stories and inspired participants to prioritise sustainability in their impact projects, emphasising the importance of institutionalising reforms that can drive enduring and meaningful change.
We are excited to see the transformative change this cohort will bring to their organisations and the African citizenry. Stay tuned for updates on their progress shaping the future of public sector leadership!
