LEAD-P Case Study

Learning from the best

Chioma Nzewi Delivery Manager at the Central Delivery Coordination Unit, Cabinet Affairs Office, was posted to consulting company KPMG for her private sector LEAD-P internship.

In partnership with KPMG

“The posting to KPMG was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, helping me to develop global best practices to improve efficiency and productivity”

Chioma Nzewi

Chioma believes that during her internship, she gained invaluable skills and knowledge such as how to use technology to work collaboratively with colleagues, the importance of onboarding and continuous training and how to apply global best practices in her work. She took her learnings back to her position in the Cabinet Office and has replicated some of them successfully with good results. She recommends that more such exchange programmes be created, to allow for the successful transfer of knowledge to the public sector.

A representative of KPMG, the partner organisation where Chioma interned stated: “We chose to participate in the programme because the success of the Civil Service is ultimately the success of the nation. The objective of building capacity within the Civil Service is an initiative that ties to the KPMG value of excellence as we never stop learning and improving”.

During the internship, KPMG helped the LEAD-P interns understand how to deliver world-class services and build capacity in their professional and technical skills.
